The Fuji GX617 is an interchangeable-lens panoramic camera produced by Fujifilm beginning in 1993. This camera straddles the line between medium and large format, making (4x) 6x17cm images on a roll of 120 roll film. The 180mm f6.7 is the "standard" lens for the system and provides a unique perspective -- the extreme width inherent to the 6x17 format gives it an expansive view laterally, but the slight telephoto focal length produces moderate compression of the scene in the vertical axis. The Fuji GX617 is perhaps the ultimate "environmental portrait" camera, as seen in these sample images of regular customer Joe Brook and his iconic van Big Blue.
