Candido 400 is the middle film in Candido Collective's trio of color negative films. Adapted from Kodak Vision3 250D, this film is a daylight-balanced emulsion designed to be used in a variety of situations. Unlike Vision3 250D, Candido 400 has had the remjet layer removed from it for easier processing in photo lab C-41 machines. This allows Candido 400 to be used by a wider array of still film photographers.
Candido 400 shares the defining qualities of Kodak Vision3 films: fine grain, soft contrast and a more natural color saturation. This makes Candido 400 quite versatile in terms of its potential applications, be they portraiture, landscapes, cityscapes, product photography, still life or what have you. The film is great latitude and is quite forgiving of over exposure. Nominally an ISO 250 film, Candido 400 is rated at ISO 400 for a bit of extra speed without the need to compensate development. This does give it a bit less forgiveness for under exposure.
