Cinestill 800T is a tungsten-balanced, color negative film based off Kodak's Vision3 500T motion picture film stock. In fact, 800T is Vision3 500T, only chemically treated by Cinestill to remove the remjet layer, which allows for easy processing in C-41 chemistry at any photo lab. The film is noted for its high speed, fine grain, excellent exposure latitude, wonderful tonality, and unique red halo effect that glows around bright light sources. The tungsten color balance allows for accurate color reproduction under incandescent or other tungsten light sources.
The film was introduced by Cinestill, first in 35mm format in 2012, and in 120 format in 2017. There have been plans to make it available in 4x5 but as of summer of 2020, that remains merely a hope.
