The Viscawide-16 ST-D makes a strong case for being one of the most unfortunately named cameras out there.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Produced by the Japanese company, Taiyō Kōki in the early 1960s, the Viscawide-16 ST-D was the only camera the company ever made. Swing lens cameras, in
general, are not the most common but, as far as we could find, there are
only two that use subminiature film. The ST-D exposes its panoramic
negatives onto 16mm film, loaded into proprietary cartridges.
The silver lining here is that you could use any perforation style of
16mm film - single, double, or unperforated. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ The early model ST-D has shutter options of H (1/300th), S
(1/60th), and Off. The "off" setting was removed from the later model
ST-D because it apparently put the main spring under a great deal of
stress and, if left in that state, would eventually stretch the spring out.⠀⠀
If you are feeling adventurous and looking to shoot subminiature film in a camera other than the Minox series, get your hands on this unique swing lens.
