Annie Buckles Gives The Rolleiflex Automat a Whirl

Our National Manager Annie Buckles recently decided to shoot with her first Rolleiflex TLR.  She had used Yashica TLR cameras previously but had never had any experience with a Rolleiflex.  We had this nice Automat model in stock so she took it home, loaded up with a roll of Ilford Delta 3200 for a weekend of photography.

Rolleiflex Automat on a Night Out

This Rolleiflex Automat is seen on a night out about town.  One of our staff had never photographed with a Rolleiflex TLR camera before and decided to give this Automat a whirl.  This particular model is the 1937 variant, as distinguished by the lack of a bayonet filter mount on the viewing lens.  It has also been fitted with a Maxwell bright screen, something that dramatically improves the otherwise dim nature of the standard screens seen on Rolleiflex cameras of this age. Unfortunately that is not a feature one can enjoy from this image alone and you would need to stop in at our shop to see this camera in person to appreciate how big a difference that screen makes and how much life it breathes into this very early Rolleiflex camera.
