The Nikon F100 is a semi-professional, auto-focus, 35mm SLR camera
produced by Nikon from 1999 until 2006. On the scale of Nikon cameras,
it sits right between the F5 and F6.
Some consider the F100 a scaled-down version of the F5, but this sells
the camera a bit short. It has a very advanced 10-segment matrix meter
that can also switch over to a center-weighted or spot metering mode.
It also has a very advanced auto-focus system and built-in motor drive,
capable of continuous firing at a rate as fast as 4.5 frames per second.
If you are not a fan of the size, weight, or price of Nikon's professional auto-focus cameras, the F100 makes a great choice.

Danielle Nelson with her Nikon F100
Here is a self portrait made by Danielle Nelson with her Nikon F100.
Danielle sent us this photo in response to a call we made to our customers,
asking for them to share out their favorite self portraits. We wanted
to share these photos as a way to spotlight the connection between the
photographer and their camera. Fostering this connection is one of the
most important aspects of what we do. It's not just about the camera
and it's not just about the photographer. It's a union between the two
that makes our photographs what they are. Capturing an image of you and
your camera, with your camera, is a great way to encompass the
connection that means so much to each of us.
