The Pentax Super-A, otherwise known as the Super Program, was a successor camera to the ME Super. It was built in the 1980s and offers the big advancement of being capable of full program exposure setting, when Pentax-A lenses are used. With these lenses, the camera can also operate in shutter priority, or full manual exposure. If Pentax-M lenses are used, the camera can still set exposure in aperture priority mode, or once again, use full manual. Like the ME Super, shutter speeds are set via up and down buttons on the top of the camera. Unlike the ME Super, the selected shutter speed is displayed in a small LCD panel on the top of the camera. The Super Program has a shutter speed range of 12 seconds up to 1/2000, as well as bulb mode. It has a flash sync of 1/125th. The shutter is entirely battery dependent and will not fire in the event that the batteries die.

Pentax Super Program staying safe during with COVID-19
In the spring of 2020, COVID-19 changed our daily lives. Schools have closed. Libraries have closed. Restaurants have closed. While our shop has closed to the public, we remain open and able to provide our community with fresh film, cameras, darkroom equipment, and processing during these unprecedented times. As a small business, we have been working incessantly to strike that really difficult balance of providing both short and long term security for our dedicated staff, as well as seeing to the welfare of our customers. You can trust that we are taking a lot of strict measures to ensure the safety of our staff and customer community. We clean and disinfect constantly. We work in shifts around the clock, in order to limit the number of staff we have in the shop at the same time.
These times are a challenge for all of us. They also present an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and document this experience for ourselves and our community. We encourage everyone to stay home if you can, wear a mask if you must go out, stay in contact remotely with your friends and family, and stay strong as we work collectively to keep us all as safe and healthy as possible. We miss our busy Saturdays with a shop bustling with customers in real life, but we know that observing these precautions are the best way to show love and solidarity with our community and beyond.
