In the main exhibit for the T70 we covered many of its more advanced features but we really glossed over the Command Back 70 module that Canon produced for this camera. This advanced back door replaced the standard rear door on the camera and allowed some cool features.
Just what you may ask?
For starters you could record the day, month, and year the photo was made (the Command Back 70 supports years up to 2029 so you better hurry up and enjoy this feature). Moreover, you could record the exact time, down to the minute, that the photo was captured. You could also encode select exposures with your own coded designation for easier reference/filing later on. You could program up to a six digit code using numbers 0-9 and letters A-F. If imprinting stuff on your images is not your cup of tea, the Command Back 70 did have a few other tricks up its sleeve. For starters you could set up the camera for delayed firing with a delay up to 1 second shy of 24 hours. This back also allowed the firing of exposures at set intervals. Long exposures could be programmed in with exposure times of several hours possible. Lastly, the number of exposures made in a sequence could be programmed.
Pair all this with the other features the T70 boasted and we won't be surprised if your opinion of this camera has grown a bit.
