The Vito B is a compact and stylish 35mm viewfinder camera. It was produced by Voigtlander between 1954 to 1959. There are 11 different variants of the Vito B, which can cause some confusion in trying to accurately describe the camera. The variations include the early model with standard size viewfinder versus a later model that had a larger viewfinder. Also the camera came with either a Color-Skopar 50mm f/3.5 or f/2.8 lens. Additionally, the camera could have either a 4-speed, 8-speed or even a rare 9-speed Prontor shutter.
All that aside, the Vito B - regardless of which version it is - is a simple and compact 35mm camera that easily fits in a pocket and embodies that elegant 1950's style. The camera has a hinged base plate that swings down and releases the back door, making loading film quite easy.
The camera is all manual and has neither a light meter nor a rangefinder.

Voigtlander Vito B
Here we have the Voigtlander Vito B, a compact 35mm viewfinder from the 1950s. This sleek machine fits in the palm of a hand and has an incredibly smooth advance lever, making it extremely convenient for incognito work and street photography. It has 8 shutter speeds, maxing out at 1/300 of a second, and zone focusing marked from 3 feet to infinity.
There's nothing super special about this camera; we like it because it's small, sweet, sturdy, and affordable.
