Rollei Superpan 200 is a super-panchromatic, black and white film with extended red sensitivity out to approximately 775nm. It is based on Agfa Aviphot Pan 200 film, a specialty film made by Agfa-Gavaert in Belgium for industrial, technical, and aerial surveillance purposes. The extended red sensitivity allows it to cut through atmospheric haze more effectively. When paired with a deep red filter, such as an R72, this film is capable of making true IR images with the full "wood effect." It has moderate grain, limited latitude, and moderate-to-low contrast. The emulsion is coated on a clear polyester base, making Superpan 200 a great successor to Agfa Scala 200, as a black and white reversal film.
Affixed to the front of this 500C is a Bay50 to 77mm stepping ring, allowing us to mount an R72 filter in order to get the full infrared effect from this beautiful film.
