Olympus 35 RC

The Olympus 35 RC is a wonderful, and wonderfully compact, 35mm rangefinder.  At the time of its release, in the early 1970s, the Olympus 35 RC was perhaps the world's smallest 35mm rangefinder, capable of both automatic and manual exposure modes.  The camera features full manual selection of both aperture and shutter, and can also be placed into shutter priority auto exposure.

The star feature of the camera, as it is with most Olympus cameras, is the lens - the Zuiko 42mm f/2.8  optics of the 35 RC are no exception.  This lens does feature a wonky 43.5mm filter thread with a 0.5mm thread pitch, so finding filters can be notably trickier than your more standard filter threads.

The Olympus 35RC is a mechanical marvel, only requiring a battery to power the camera's light meter.  Other highlights include both a hotshoe, as well as a PC terminal, for both on and off camera flash, a leaf shutter that allows flash sync up to the camera's top speed of 1/500th, a 10 second self-timer, and a meter cell, located inside the filter ring, so that the camera can compensate for any attached filters... assuming you can find them.

The world is full of excellent, compact 35mm rangefinders but, if you happen across a 35 RC, we highly recommend acquiring it.
