Launched in 1986, the Kodak TMax films represented a whole new generation of Kodak black and white film emulsions. TMax quickly made a place for itself in the bags of film photographers worldwide, giving Kodak Tri-X a bit of a run for its money. The most notable characteristic of TMax films is the use of a tabular grain structure, allowing for a smoother, finer-grained appearance than previous cubic grain structures. Additionally, TMax 400 boasts incredibly high resolution and sharpness.
