The Fuji Instax Mini color film, first introduced in 1998, marked the beginning of Fuji's Instax line of film and cameras, triggering a revolution in instant film photography. It is part of a family comprising three different formats: Mini, Wide, and Square.
This ISO 800, color instant film produces business card-sized images (46mm x 62mm with a white border, totalling a film size of 54mm x 86mm) that develop independently after being ejected from the camera post-exposure. The cameras are designed to be compact and easy-to-use, with some models offering features like multiple exposures and bulb mode for enhanced creative control.
Unlike Polaroid film, Instax film does not include the battery power source in the film packs, which makes the film cheaper to produce and subsequently more affordable than Polaroid alternatives. There are many themed Instax Mini films available, featuring colored and printed borders with various patterns and designs. Fuji also released a monochrome version of the Instax Mini film in 2016.
Compatible with Fuji Instax Mini cameras or accessories that use Instax Mini film, it also works with various Lomography cameras built to use Instax Mini film. Known for bright, crisp, and saturated colors, this film produces a 1-3/4in by 2-1/2in image on a 2-1/8in by 3-3/8in print. Each package contains two packs of ten shots.
