The Nikon Extension Tube M2 provides 27.5mm of additional extension to mounted lenses. By mounting between the lens and the camera, this extension allows lenses to focus closer than their normal minimum distance, allowing greater macro magnification with practically any Nikon F-mount lens. The M2 tube allows automatic (mechanical) stopping down of aperture at time of exposure but does not allow meter coupling on Nikon cameras using the AI variant of the Nikon F-mount.
This tube is meant to pair specifically with the Nikon 55mm f3.5 Micro-Nikkor lens and allow it to reach 1:1 macro magnification reproductions.
