The Underwood Champion debuted in the early 1930s and represented a significant evolution in portable typewriters. The Champion model added several features that had previously only been available on desktop machines. The Champion has a traditional 4-bank QWERTY keyboard with crisp elite type. It also features touch control, tab functions and a 3-position ribbon set. The Champion enjoyed nearly a two decade production run and was a favorite of the US military for its combination of portability and reliability. Early models of the Champion are seen with a glossy paint finish while later models switched to a crinkle paint finish.
As with all of our writing machines, this typewriter has been fully refurbished and is being offered with a fresh ribbon and a six month warranty.
