The Minolta Maxxum 5 is a full-featured 35mm autofocus SLR camera. It came out in late 2001 and was one of the last film cameras Minolta made for their Maxxum family. As such, the camera has a huge array of high-end features. Some highlights include: 14-segment exposure metering, 7-point autofocus, off-the-film plane flash metering, DX film coding with manual ISO override, shutter speeds ranging from 30 seconds to 1/4000 with 1/125th flash sync speed, motorized film advance up to 3 fps, three exposure auto bracketing, depth of field preview, eye start, multiple exposure and so, so, so much more. At the same time these features were being packed into this camera, Minolta looked for ways to cut costs and make this camera more desirable to amateur photographers. The Maxxum 5 has a pentamirror instead of pentaprism viewfinder, which along with greater use of plastics, makes this a lightweight and pretty compact camera. Fit this with a 28-105mm lens and you have a great kit that can go a lot of places and do a lot of things for you.
As fortune would have it, this Maxxum 5 comes with a Sigma 28-105mm f3.8-5.6 UC-III zoom lens.
