The Leica 35mm f2 ASPH. Summicron-M is a standard wide angle prime lens for Leica M rangefinder cameras. Considered by some to be close to a perfect lens, or at least one of the better lenses Leica ever made for the M-series rangefinder cameras, the 35mm f2 Aspherical is known for having outstanding image quality while also being incredibly compact. For those with the budget, this can easily be the last lens one ever needs for their Leica M6. Composed of seven elements in five groups, with a single aspherical element, this lens' design eliminates nearly all distortion and aberration. The 35mm f2 aspherical has excellent sharpness and contrast. Additionally, it has a fast maximum aperture of f2 that lends itself well to low light conditions or for shallow depths of field.
