The Leica R4s is a manual focus, SLR camera that uses the Leica R-mount lens series. This camera was produced several years after its predecessors (the R4 and R4MOT) as a more simplified and economical version of the earlier cameras. The camera has an electronic shutter with a top speed of 1/1000. Metering modes include Manual and Aperture Priority modes, but Shutter Priority and full Program automatic exposure were left out of the design of the R4s, unlike the R4. The R4s was built to be smaller than previous Leica SLR cameras.
The camera is powered by two SR44 batteries.
