This Nikon 105mm f1.8 Nikkor is an ultra-fast telephoto lens ideal for theater, concert or indoor sports photography. In other words, situations in lower light conditions, or requiring fast shutter speeds, where flash may not be available. It is also a popular portrait lens for its ability to render incredibly shallow depths of field. Comprised of 5 elements arranged in 5 groups, the optics in this lens also have multi-layer lens coatings and the results are that the Nikon 105mm f1.8 produces excellent image quality with sharp results. The lens also features a built-in retractable lens hood. It uses 62mm filters.
This lens has the AIS variant of the Nikon F lens mount and is most compatible with Nikon cameras utilizing the AIS mount, but it is fully compatible with cameras using the AI and Non-AI mounts as well.
