This Sigma 600mm f8 Mirror-Telephoto is a manual focus, ultra-telephoto mirror lens. Mirror lenses are extremely compact because rather than having a series of glass optics to achieve its focal length they use mirrors. These lenses have fixed apertures and create a unique out of focus area due to the lens having a mirror in its center. They allow super telephoto focal lengths while vastly reducing lens size and weight.
This lens has the basic Nikon F mount. It does not couple with the camera meter through AI or Non-AI interactions since it has no need to (fixed f8 aperture). Therefore it can be used on virtually any Nikon F-mount SLR body, albeit with some limitations to metering and exposure modes.
