The Leica Minilux Zoom is a compact, autofocus rangefinder camera with a high quality Leica Vario-Elmar 35-70mm f3.5-6.5 zoom lens. The camera is designed to be both easy to use and high performing, and is meant to be a constant companion - fitting snugly into a coat pocket or small bag. The camera operates in a constant Program auto exposure mode, has center-weighted metering, and exposure compensation of +2 to -2 EV. It uses an infrared autofocus system capable of focusing as close as 70cm and it has a manual focus override. The Minilux Zoom has a built-in electronic flash with several key modes - such as red eye reduction - as well as a standard ISO hot shoe for accepting additional flash units. Other notable features include a B and T mode for long exposures, motorized film advance, automatic DX code reading and a titanium housing that allows the Minilux Zoom to be light yet sturdy.
