The Leica M5 is a 35mm rangefinder camera that accepts the Leica M-Mount series of lenses. Introduced in 1971, the M5 was the first M camera to have a built-in light meter. The shutter speed dial is placed beneath the film advance, and can be adjusted with a single finger while looking through the finder. Larger and less subtle than the Leica cameras that came before and after it, the M5 is nonetheless a classic in its own right.
