The Pentax KX is a 35mm SLR camera within the Pentax K-mount family of cameras. It is the forerunner to the later Pentax LX and was originally marketed toward the advanced amateur photographer. The Pentax KX has some nice features, including all manual exposure control with both shutter and aperture selection displayed in the viewfinder. The camera has a TTL match-needle metering system that is easy to learn and use. The KX also has a depth of field preview button that can be locked on. There is a mechanical self-timer as well as a shutter lock button. The focal plane shutter of the KX has speeds ranging from 1 second to 1/1000, plus Bulb mode and a flash sync of 1/60.
This is a solid camera, very similar to the Pentax K1000 but with a few extra features.
