The Hasselblad 553 ELX is a motorized version of the Hasselblad 503 CX. The 553 ELX includes an acute matte focusing screen, TTL/OTF (through the lens, off the film plane) flash metering, and redesigned battery chamber that accepts five AA batteries.  Like other Hasselblad 500 series cameras, the 553 ELX allows changing of film backs, lenses, prisms and focusing screens.  Additionally, the 553 ELX can change release buttons, swapping between the larger release plate 46345 or the smaller release button 46116.

This camera includes a Hasselblad PME 5 meter prism and the release button 46116.
