The Contax 139 Quartz (sometimes called the Contax 139Q) is a 35mm, single lens reflex camera introduced in 1979 and aimed at serious amateur and semi-professional photographers. It is relatively small and lightweight while still being fully-featured. The 139Q uses the Contax/Yashica bayonet lens mount, allowing the use of the famed Carl Zeiss lenses made for these cameras. In addition, it has a quartz-timed, electronic shutter that was quite sophisticated for its era. The 139Q can expose in either full manual or aperture priority modes. It has exposure compensation, depth of field preview, electronic self-timer, full exposure info display in viewfinder, and a flash sync speed of 1/100.
