The Nikon F2 was the worthy successor to the legendary Nikon F camera and itself became one of the most popular cameras in the world. It is known for being rugged, reliable and steadfast. The F2 looks and feels quite familiar to any who have used the original Nikon F. It introduced a hinged back door that made film loading easier. It also has a top shutter speed of 1/2000. Like the Nikon F, the F2 has interchangeable prisms.
The Nikon F2A receives its designation from the attached DP-11 prism. The DP-11 allows the use of Nikon AI lenses (Non-AI are still compatible but metering must be done in a stopped-down mode).
