The Hasselblad Underwater Housing system allows you to use your Hasselblad 500 C or C/M film camera for your next underwater adventure. The housing was built by Hugyfot, a Belgian company that still manufactures underwater housings for a variety of cameras. The housing has external controls for adjusting shutter, aperture and focus (see note below), as well as firing the shutter and winding the film. Additionally it has a prism viewfinder that provides a magnified view of the focusing screen. A second window above the lens is fitted with a small light to illuminate lens settings in low light conditions. The housing will work only with the older C lenses (sorry, no CF or CFE lenses) and should be compatible with the 50mm, 60mm and 80mm focal lengths.
The Underwater Housing comes with one toothed ring used to adjust aperture and another for shutter speed, it is however missing the toothed ring intended for adjusting focus (Hasselblad part #57355). The housing has been submerged in water and the insides remained dry, but it should be considered "untested" when it comes to its o-ring integrity and should be carefully tested before using it on an actual dive. It is being sold without a warranty for this reason.
This kit also comes with an underwater strobe, which has no battery pack and has not been tested, it should be considered as bonus equipment.
Both the Underwater Housing and strobe come with a wooden case.
