The Nikon 105mm f2.8 G ED VR Micro-Nikkor is an autofocus, telephoto macro lens for Nikon SLR and DSLR cameras. It is an optically superb macro lens capable of focusing as close as 6 inches for a true life-size 1:1 macro reproduction. This lens incorporates an ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element for improved image quality and uses Nikon's VR (vibration reduction) for sharper images at slower shutter speeds.
This lens has a 62mm filter thread.
Because this is a G-series lens and uses AF-S autofocus, it is capable of mounting on older Nikon manual focus SLR cameras but lacks the ability to change aperture on those cameras. It also will not autofocus on some early Nikon AF SLR cameras, such as the N55 but can be manually focused in those cases.
