This Royal Quiet De Luxe Typewriter is an incredible writing machine and was the flagship of the Royal typewriter company. To celebrate this workhorse of a machine, Royal issued a limited number that were plated in 24k gold. This is one of those machines. There are two version of the Royal Quiet De Luxe, as it was redesigned around 1950, with this one being the earlier version.
This model comes with an unused name plate that can be engraved to replace the Quiet De Luxe plate on the carriage as well.
Oh, and Ian Fleming wrote the James Bond series on a gold plated typewriter.
