The Minox Riga was the first of the subminiature Minox camera line. Designed by Walter Zapp and produced in Latvia during the late 1930s to early 1940s, the Riga is the camera that started it all when it comes to Minox spy cameras. Featuring a stainless steel body that has surprising heft, the Riga feels both instantly familiar and distinctly different to those used to handling Minox subminiature cameras. It has a guillotine shutter with speeds ranging from 1/2s to 1/1000, plus B and T. The lens is a 15mm f3.5 Minostigmat. The Riga uses standard Minox and Spy Film for Minox cassettes and produces an 8x11 frame size that would become the standard on all later Minox subminiature cameras.
