At the time of its introduction the Nikon 35mm f2 Nikkor-O was the fastest Nikon lens for its focal length, until later replaced with the f1.4 version. It is a compact, manual focus lens with a modestly wide angle focal length of 35mm that is perfect for portraiture, both individual and group. The 35mm focal length has also been one of the favored focal lengths for many a street photographer and has proven its versatility time and again.
This 35mm f2 Nikkor-O.C is a slightly updated version of the original Nikkor-O and has better lens coatings than the previous version.
While originally a Non-AI lens, this lens has had an AI not machine-cut into it, allowing it to be compatible with later Nikon SLR cameras that require the AI version of the Nikon F lens mount. It is still backward compatible with Non-AI Nikon cameras.
This lens has a 52mm filter thread.
