The Nikon F2 was the worthy successor to the legendary Nikon F camera and itself became one of the most popular cameras in the world. It is known for being rugged, reliable and steadfast. The F2 looks and feels quite familiar to any who have used the original Nikon F. It introduced a hinged back door that made film loading easier. It also has a top shutter speed of 1/2000. Like the Nikon F, the F2 has interchangeable prisms.
The addition of the DP-3 finder distinguishes this Nikon F2 as the "F2SB". The DP-3 finder provided an LED display for manual exposure setting as opposed to the earlier needle display. Furthermore, the DP-3 is an improvement over the earlier DP-2 prism because it uses faster silicon photo diodes. This prism is meant primarily for Non-AI lenses.
