The Nikon 135mm f2.8 Series E AIS lens is a type of Nikon AI-S lens, with all their benefits. Unlike other Nikon AI-S lenses, the Series E lenses do not have the Non-AI coupling to make them compatible with Nikon F and early Nikkormat cameras. These lenses can be used on those cameras but have to be stopped down for proper metering to occur.
