This Nikon 60mm f2.8D AF Micro Nikkor is an autofocus macro lens that excels at extreme close focus. It has a minimum focus distance of .219m (8.6 inches) that achieves a 1:1 (lifesize) macro reproduction ratio. The lens works well in both auto and manual focus modes, the latter benefiting for a wide, easy to grip, focus ring that really aids manual focus. The lens also has a focus limiting feature, that locks the focus into one of two zones: infinity - 1ft or 10 inches to 8.6inches, thereby speeding up autofocus functions by reducing focus seek times.
This is an excellent lens for those interested in doing macro photography and it is compatible with Nikon autofocus SLRs as well as those that use the Nikon AI, AIS or AI'd lens mounts.
