This Nikon 200mm f4 Nikkor is a manual focus, telephoto lens designed for Nikon cameras using the AI variant of the Nikon F lens mount. The history of this lens dates to the introduction of the Nikon F and it has been a staple of Nikon photographers since the early 1960s. The AI version features an extensively updated optical configuration - five elements in five groups - and makes for a very compact telephoto with a quite reasonable weight (1lb). This version of the 200mm f4 Nikkor also added improved NIC multi-layer lens coatings for even better contrast and flare reduction.
This lens is best suited for Nikon AI cameras such as the Nikon F3, FM2, FA and similar. It is still backward compatible with Non-AI Nikon cameras as well.
This lens has a 52mm filter thread.
