The Pentax ZX-M is a manual focus 35mm SLR film camera. It is part of Pentax's ZX series of cameras that were released throughout the 1990s. It is thought of as a bit of an updated, modern successor to the Pentax K1000. Despite being a part of the autofocus ZX series of cameras, and even though it is meant to be used with PK-AF lenses, the ZX-M must be focused manually. It has been designed with this mind, such as having a traditional split-prism focusing screen. It also features a pentamirror instead of pentaprism allowing a slightly brighter viewfinder making focusing by eye slightly easier. The ZX-M also includes the ability to choose between full manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, or full program exposure modes. It has a multi-frame drive mode, electronic self-timer, exposure compensation, depth of field preview mode, and meter lock.
