The original Minolta Autocord (also referred to as the Autocord A) is a medium format, twin lens reflex (TLR) camera that uses 120 film to produce twelve 6x6cm frames per roll. The Autocord A is fitted with a 75mm f3.5 Rokkor taking lens set below a f3.2 viewing lens. The camera uses a unique focusing lever below the face of the camera. It has automatic film advance that also resets the shutter, in a very similar fashion to Rolleiflex cameras. Shutter speeds on the earliest models range from 1 second to 1/400, plus Bulb. There is both an M and X for flash sync and a mechanical self-timer (though we recommend not using this unless the shutter system has been fully overhauled as self-timers are prone to sticking and locking up the shutter). Later models of the Autocord (called the Autocord I, II or III) were fitted with improved shutters that had a top speed of 1/500 plus the capability of handling either 120 or 220 film.
This version is an early Autocord I. It has the Citizen-MVL shutter with a top speed of 1/500 but does not support 220 capabilities.
