The successor to the vaunted Olympus OM-1, the OM-2 is everything you knew and liked about its predecessor but with even more advanced capabilities. At its heart, the OM-2 is a manual focus, 35mm SLR camera using the Olympus OM lens mount. It is incredibly compact - one of the smallest SLR designs ever produced and is therefore ideal for photographers who appreciate a smaller form factor in their cameras. While the OM-2 allows full manual exposure control, it is also capable of Aperture Priority auto exposure. In fact the camera is known for its amazing long exposure capabilities in this auto mode and allows it to work wonders in low light conditions. The OM-2 also features TTL flash metering capability. It has manual shutter speeds between 1 second to 1/1000 (plus Bulb) with a flash sync of 1/60. Other features include a mechanical self-timer and mirror lock-up.
The OM-2N features an updated internal computer chip which allows for TTL flash metering (with the appropriate, dedicated flash units).
