The Canon P is a fully manual rangefinder camera that accepts LTM (M39) screw-mount lenses. It has a 1:1 magnification viewfinder with built-in framelines for 35mm, 50mm, and 135mm focal lengths. It also features a metal focal plane shutter, instead of a cloth curtain shutter commonly found in other rangefinder cameras of the time, that is more durable and not prone to holes being burned into the shutter from lens caps being left off. The Canon P has a self-timer, level film advance and a hinged back door for easy film loading.
