The Leitz FIKUS is an adjustable lens hood made for Leica lenses with focal lengths from 35mm to 135mm. The FIKUS was a popular and versatile hood solution that was produced by Leitz for over 30 years and several variations can be found. The hood attaches to the front of the lens via a clamping ring. The hood has extendable sections that can be slid out, or collapsed in, to accommodate different focal lengths. The FIKUS features a set screw for locking the hood at a certain extension.
