The Leica Visoflex II is a reflex housing designed to allow through-the-lens viewing with Leica rangefinder cameras. It is an upgrade on the earlier Visoflex I with a shorter optical thickness of 40mm in order to allow the use of lenses with focal lengths as low as 65mm. When a lens is mounted to the Visoflex II, a reflex mirror allows viewing through an eyepiece and through the lens. An arm on the side of the unit was positioned over the camera's shutter button and triggered both the reflex mirror in the Visoflex II as well as the shutter in the camera body simultaneously. A number of accessories were made for the Visoflex II including various lens adapters, extension tubes and magnifying eyepieces.
