The Contax 159MM is a 35mm SLR camera that uses the Contax/Yashica lens mount. It is considered an upgraded version of the Contax 139Q and the first of the MM "Multimode" cameras produced by Contax. It features a top shutter speed of 1/4000 as well as a fast flash sync speed of 1/250. It is capable of three different program exposure modes: high speed, low speed and normal. It also has an aperture priority as well as manual exposure modes.
This camera is best paired with "MM" Contax/Yashica lenses. These lenses have their minimum aperture on the lens barrel painted green. The Program exposure modes on the 159MM will only work with MM lenses. Other C/Y mount lenses can still be used with aperture priority or manual exposure modes.
This camera has new light seals and mirror shock pad.
