The Canon EOS Rebel 2000 is an autofocus, 35mm SLR camera produced by Canon. It was designed as an entry-level, consumer camera. It is lightweight and very inexpensive. Despite its plasticky nature, the EOS Rebel 2000 has a decent array of features. It has the full PASM exposure mode system (Program, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and Manual). Its autofocus capabilities are near identical to the Canon Elan 7, with the AF point system being expanded from 3 to 7 points. The EOS Rebel 2000 has a built-in flash for easy use and a hot shoe capable of accepting Canon Speedlites and using off-the-film, TTL exposure control.
The Canon EOS 300 uses the Canon EF lens mount. It requires two CR2 batteries for power.
This camera was also known as the EOS Kiss III (Japan) and EOS 300 (Europe).
