The Vivitar 285 Zoom Thyristor is a classic, all-purpose flash for older mechanical film cameras. It should not be used with any modern electronic camera due to potentially damaging voltage output. The 285 has a bounce head, built-in sensor capable of automatic exposure modes and a guide number of 32 at ISO 100. It uses four AA batteries.
