The Minolta Maxxum 7000 was a revolutionary camera when it was first introduced in 1985. It is an autofocus, 35mm SLR camera and the first such camera to feature integrated autofocus as well as motorized film advance. Beyond its autofocus capabilities, the Maxxum 7000 can do a whole lot more. It features numerous exposure modes from full auto Program to aperture or shutter priority as well as metered manual. It is capable of TTL and OTF flash metering with compatible flashes. Users can choose between single frame or continuous fire drive modes, there is an electronic self-timer, AE lock, exposure compensation and DX coding for automatically selecting film speed when loading the camera.
The Minolta Maxxum 7000 introduced, and uses, the Minolta Maxxum autofocus lens mount. The camera requires four AAA batteries for power and all functions.
