The Nikon 35mm f2.8 Nikkor-S is a manual focus, slightly wide angle lens for 35mm Nikon SLR cameras. The original version of this lens was part of the initial lineup of lenses introduced with the Nikon F camera, and it underwent several iterations over its production. This earlier version of the 35mm f2.8 Nikkor-S has a lens design of 7 elements in six groups, an aperture range from f2.8 to f16, an angle of view of 62° and a minimum focus distance of 1ft (30cm). It uses 52mm filters and accessories.
Originally, this version of the lens was produced with a Non-AI variant of the Nikon F lens mount but this lens has been modified after-the-fact to be compatible with Nikon cameras that use the AI version of the lens mount. It is still backward compatible with Nikon Non-AI cameras.
