This Kenko 2x teleconverter is your standard issue "doubler" for doubling the effective focal lengths of lenses mounted to it. For example, mounted to a 200mm lens this Kenko 2x teleconverter will double the lens' focal length to 400mm. This doubling comes at the cost of 2 f-stops of light, so an f4 lens effectively becomes an f8 lens.
The Kenko 2x TelePlus 300 has an integrated control circuit that preserves electronic communication between camera body and lens, allowing full control of the lens (autofocus, aperture control, etc) through the teleconverter.
This teleconverter is designed to work with Minolta lenses only. It may not be fully compatible with some third party lenses in the Maxxum lens mount. It is also designed to work with lenses that have a maximum aperture of f5.6 or larger. Lenses with smaller maximum apertures may not autofocus properly.
