The Canon EOS 5000 Camera (the Canon EOS 888 in Japan) is 35mm SLR camera from Canon that uses the EOS system of lenses. This camera has auto-focus and TTL flash capabilities just like the majority of the other EOS cameras. Its biggest difference from other cameras in the Canon lineup is that it has a shutter speed dial where other Canon EOS cameras have a mode dial. There are still five "creative" modes, but all other modes have been removed for the EOS 5000.
There is no setting that allows the user to select different apertures, so the shutter speed dial is used for shutter speed priority shooting where the camera will select the appropriate aperture. Available shutter speeds range from 1/8th of a second to 1/2000th of a second, plus Bulb.
This camera requires two CR123 batteries for all functions.
