The Canon EOS-1 is a high-end, professional Canon 35mm single lens reflex film camera
designed to accept Canon EF autofocus lenses. When it was released in 1989, the EOS-1 directly competed with the Nikon F4, considered THE professional SLR on the market at the time. The EOS-1 outdid the F4 most notably in terms of its autofocus speeds, causing a number of professional photojournalists to switch from Nikon to Canon. Even to today, the EOS-1 remains a high performing SLR film camera with a full range of modes and features. The camera has shutter speeds ranging from 30 second to 1/8000 with flash sync at 1/250. A built-in motor drive provides automatic film advance and allows continuous burst shooting. Metering options include 6-zone evaluative, centerweighted, partial (5.8%) and spot (2.3%). Exposure modes include full Program, Shutter or Aperture Priority, Depth-of-Field Program and metered Manual. There is a lot more one can say about the EOS-1 but we have to leave some surprises for you to discover on your own. Trust us though, this is a pretty amazing camera.
