The Leica R7 is a 35mm SLR camera that uses the Leica R-mount lens. It is a redesign of the previous R5 and incorporates many of the features introduced by the R6. It has an electro-mechanical shutter and features auto and program exposure modes in addition to full manual exposure. It features two metering options: selective or full-frame integral. It also has more advanced TTL flash capabilities than previous Leica R cameras. It is also the first Leica SLR to feature DX code reading.
The electro-mechanical shutter on the Leica R7 has speeds ranging from 4s to 1/2000 along with a Bulb mode and a 1/100 flash sync speed. The latter two settings are the only ones that work in the event of battery failure. Other features include depth of field preview, mirror pre-release, electronic self-timer, diopter adjustment and aperture ring illumination (our favorite feature).
The R7 requires four LR/SR44 batteries for power and almost all functions.
This camera has been fully tested but due to the lack of service options it is being sold As Is - with no warranty.
